Express Building, 9 Great Ancoats Street

The Express Building is completely unique in the City, built in 1939 to house one of three Daily Express offices and was designed by engineer, Sir Owen Williams. Only thirty five years after opening, the building was Grade II  listed making this building on of Manchester youngest listed buildings.

Since this industry downsized in the area, the surplus buildings have been converted into large modern apartments. The uniqueness of the black glass outer shell and huge windows makes this development truly special.
