About Us

Julie Twist Properties was established in 1994 when Manchester was still trying to get its name on the map. At the time, there was only a handful of developments and around 600 residents but Julie had a great passion and saw the potential for what the city could become. Julie worked alongside the Central Manchester Development Corporation for the first few years with the same goal, ‘to bring life back into Manchester and make it a 24-hour city’. Numerous Manchester-based developers approached Julie to sell its property in Manchester and for the first few years.

Julie Twist Properties was the only agent handling the rapidly growing city centre residential market. Soon enough, local and national developers became impressed with the enthusiasm and success of the firm, which led to involvement in even more developments.

Today the city centre population stands at around 60,000– many of whom have bought and/or rented through Julie Twist Properties. This figure is expected to be closer to 100,000 people by 2026.

As the market took off, Julie increased the number of staff she employed and a number are still with the company today. In 2002, a partnership with Jones Homes led to the creation off JJT Residential at Salford Quays – again, the first estate agency in the area – which was then turned into another branch of Julie Twist Properties. In 2014, the Ancoats branch was opened, and we were operating a triangle of offices around the city. We now all operate from our flagship branch on Deansgate and have recently settled into our beautiful new home across the way from the iconic Beetham Tower.

My main objectives for the company, and the industry, are for customers to be able to trust us, communicate with us and build solid relationships with us. We have a solid team here at Julie Twist Properties, with many staff members being family which we strongly believe sets us apart from other agents and how we can closely work together. After over 30 years leading the way in the Manchester property market, I feel I am at the point where I can shout about the excellent team I have, the outstanding results we have achieved and how we play a key role in a city that has now become England’s Capital of the North.
