What Salford has to offer
The City of Salford is knocking on the door to Manchester City Centre in many areas including Blackfriars, Ordsall and central Salford they are all just a short walk from the heart of Manchester’s shopping and central business districts – just across the River Irwell which runs between the two cities.
Living in Salford has become increasingly popular with young professionals due to the affordable prices and proximity to both Manchester and Salford Universities.
Salford has lots to offer and is made up of many districts, Pendleton is currently undergoing a massive 10-year regeneration plan, including new and refurbished homes. Ordsall is now home to some of the most popular apartment blocks Quay 5, The Mill, Lowry Wharf and probably the first in the area Regents Park.
Salford has many places to visit from the Cathedral to the Lowry Centre; there is a retail park within walking distance to the Ordsall area and Salford shopping precinct for those further afield. Travel in Salford is well catered for boasting two train stations – Salford Central station and Salford Crescent and a designated bus route accommodating all areas of the City. The major roads going through Salford are the A6, A580 and A57 leading to the M602/M62 towards Liverpool.
Julie’s review on Salford
Salford is a great starting place to get on the property ladder, with prices more affordable than in Manchester City Centre. Returns on rentals are good and the void periods are minimal. Should I invest in Salford as an owner-occupier or Landlord? Yes definitely both will get you a good start on the property market, many people find their first home in Salford and then move on retaining their apartment and realising the potential of becoming a Landlord.
